A new chair is elected

Mariakerke, 22 April 2021
Dear members of the IC,
I take great pleasure in informing you that Prof. Dr. Anastasios Politis has been elected as new chair of the IC during the last General Assembly, which took place yesterday. Anastasios is well known to many of you – if not all – and his expertise and network is broadly acknowledged and undisputed. With Anastasios, coupled with the assistance and support of Prof. Dr Gunter Huebner and Prof. Dr. Martin Habekost, the future of the IC is guaranteed. I wish him and the presidium the best of luck and success in all their endeavors.
Yesterday, the IC had its first online event on the occasion of the virtual Drupa 2021. A selected group of eminent speakers examined and discussed the various aspects of the central theme of our event. This well-attended conference was widely acclaimed for its excellent organization and the quality of the presentations. I would like to take this opportunity to thank again Gunter, Martin and Anastasios for their large contribution in the preparation, organisation and implementation of this fruitful and inspiring event, organized jointly with iarigai.
I was your chair for the last five years and a new chair has been elected. Thus, these are my last words as chair. I would like to thank you all – and especially Gunter and Martin, for your contributions, your friendship and your support.
I would like to end with the words of John Cage: ”I am not afraid of new ideas; I am only afraid of old ideas.” Continue to inspire each other and be inspired by your students. Keep up the networking!
With my best regards
Luk
Ex-chair
