2025 General Assembly: New Chairperson, Updated Charter and new Board

During the 56th IC Conference held in Pardubice, Czech Republic, from 2 to 5 September 2025, the General Assembly of Members elected a new chairperson. Two candidates stood for election to succeed Prof. Dr. Anastasios Politis: Prof. Dr. Charles Weiss from Clemson University, USA, and EUR Ing. Enn Kerner from Estonia.

In a close decision, Charles Weiss was elected as the 8th IC Chairman in a secret online vote.

In a second vote, the members approved an update to the charter. The most important changes are that the former Presidium and the supporting Steering Committee have been merged into a Board, which now consists of five people: the Chair, three Vice-Chairs and the Editor-in-Chief of the IC Journal.

The IC Board now consists of these persons:

  • Prof. Dr. Martin Habekost, Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada, Editor-in-Chief of the IC Journal
